Port of Call #1 --- Grand Turk
After a long and FUN day and evening at sea, we arrived this morning at Grand Turk in the Turks and Caicos Islands. It was absolutely beautiful. The water is turquoise blue and you can see all the way to the bottom.
All of the kids had a little bit of money (even after Zachary's $22 convenience store trip) and it was BURNING A HOLE IN THEIR POCKET....so we decided to take a trip through the shopping mall at the main port. Sunglasses seemed to be the HOT item and everyone was looking for a deal but, I believe the only purchase that was ACTUALLY made was Carley's styling sunglasses. Everyone else opted to wait for the famous STRAW MARKET in NASSAU.
After our shopping expedition, we spent the rest of our time on the island chilling out near the ocean just soaking up the sun and eating CHICKEN WINGS!!! My question is .... couldn't we have just gone to WORLD OF WINGS in CONYERS?? Just kidding....judging from this picture, wings in Conyers must not be this good and I am glad the boys didn't miss out!!While we were on the Island, we discovered Travis truly is his Uncle's Nephew. Travis made friends with the waitress and she even told him to come back in a couple of years when he was just a bit older and she would go out with him.....His Uncle was so PROUD !!
The rest of our day was very lazy and upon returning to the boat, we set sail for Half Moon Cay. The seas were RIDICULOUS and from what we hear, half of the boat is sick......I do know I have personally witnessed several people getting sick in the hallways....thank God I am not on the clean up crew tonight!!
We did have one passenger get sick....Ms. Carley. It has been pitiful, but a trip to the INFIRMARY has fixed her right up....I am thinking of getting my nursing degree.....AND, I must say, my patient seems to be happy with my care !!!
They promise the seas will be more calm in the morning....let's hope so !!
Night night...don't let the cruise ship bugs bite !!
