Bon Voyage !!
It is finally here !! Our long awaited cruise. We all woke up quite early this morning and left Conyers at 3:30 am for our drive down to Port Canaveral to board The Elation !!!
WHAT WERE WE THINKING!! Do you know the sun doesn't come up until around 6:15 am in South Georgia these days...and I believe that STARBUCKS waits for the sun to come up before they start steaming the milk and brewing the espresso??? Well, fortunately, a STARBUCKS just south of Macon was open and ready for us when we got there!! I am not sure we would have made it all the way to Florida without them!!! $32 later...we all had drinks. Quite a small price to pay for happiness....
After Starbucks, our ride was quite a bit more lively....less sleeping and more yacking!! About 10 miles further South on I-75 I was rethinking the EXTRA shot thing......But -- we finally arrived --- all in one piece and ready to BEGIN our adventure !!
Checking in --- SEAMLESS....unless you count me, Meghan and Carley almost getting arrested by ROBOCOP. Apparently they are serious about the big signs that say "NO PHOTOGRAPHY ALLOWED IN THIS AREA".........but, we were able to sneak our photo anyway !!
Once we were checked in it was time for exploring the boat, raiding the buffet and rummaging through out CABINS !!!Mr. Walker, Travis and Zach's cabin was decorated by T. Smith Law Group as a special treat. BOY -- WAS IT FUN !!!! It really made our send off special !!!
Right before we were cleared to leave port......it was time for MUSTER!!!! We are now SAFETY EXPERTS and if WE had been on TITANIC...I am sure the outcome would have been QUITE different !!!
It has been quite a long day .... so dinner was a nice relaxing time. I only had to give ONE speech about nice manners and how to conduct yourself during the evening meal....too bad my speech had to last the ENTIRE meal.....
After dinner, Meghan and Carley managed to find the energy to take a SWING DANCE class.....I think their burst of energy was fueled by the hottie from Mexico that was the teacher....he quite a "hot tamale" himself !!!
Good night from the HIGH SEAS!! See you bright and early in the morning !!
