A Lesson In FINISHING What You START!!

Well -- today when we arrived back to the house after running quite a few errands, it occurred to me that if I do not get this yard under control --- and I mean soon --- We might lose Nick in the grass!!

So, as I was frantically digging through my purse for the landscaper's card that I had collected yesterday while having lunch in Chili's, I simply asked Nick if he knew what I had done with that landscaper's card??? Well --- he immediately wanted to know what I needed his card for ???

My answer?? ----- Well, someone around here has to cut this grass!!!!

His answer?? ----- What do we need him for?!?!?!?!? .... I know how to cut grass ... where is your lawn mower???

So -- that was that .... quicker than a lightening bolt, he was in the house and stripping down into a pair of shorts and an old T-shirt to get out in the yard and plow through the jungle!!!

BOY ... HE HAD NO CLUE WHAT HE WAS IN FOR .....

These pictures were taken from the front office window while I was "spying" on him to make sure he wasn't having a heat stroke!!!

BUT ---- In the end, we both got one of Dwayne's 'famous' speeches ... and were both admonished for the grass cutting project!!!

You see ..... Nick decided he was toooo hot .... and we had way toooo much grass for the dinky little lawnmower that we own ..... SO --- I took pity on him and allowed him to put the lawn mower away for the day if he PROMISED that he would finish the small patch of grass out by the mailbox/road no later than this coming Saturday before all of the MOMMIES came over for Mother's Day. He agreed and we had a deal ......

Well ----- to make a very long lesson short ..... We now both understand that it is a matter of INTEGRITY ... and when you start something ... you NEVER quit until it is completely finished!! EVEN WHEN IT IS SOMETHING YOU VOLUNTEERED TO DO !!!

Thanks NICK!! I truly enjoyed having to sit in on that speech with you ...... Don't bother asking for my compassion again .... I have learned my lesson :-)
